Saturday (8/28/2010) we went to the Air Show at Pease AFB. It was a beautiful day for an air show, and the pilots and jumpers were great. But, wow what a crowd of people! I'm not a big fan of big crowds. It turned the day into a day of going from one long line to another. Plus no coolers, outrageous prices at the concessions, and crappy food. I waited two hours in line to get the worst chicken sandwich I've ever had, and paid seven bucks for it. Three fifty for a bottle of water. Then it took over two and a half hours to get out of the parking lot. Only the porta-potties did not have lines all day, thank goodness for that!
On top of all that, they had huge tents and a row of porta potties set up between the area we were in and the runway. You could only go up the the fence at the runway if you paid extra. I guess the promoters don't care about their customer's experience, unless you pay some ridiculous prices for the 'vip' area. Sorry if that sounds like a lot of complaining, overall I am glad I went, but, I am sad to say, it will be a long time before I go back there again.

Wow, this is a pretty cool machine, although it's obviously a ducted fan and not a jetpack... Well who cares, it does the same thing sans the fried thighs... ;)
So for 30,000 bucks, what do you get? Not an actual Jet, err, Ducted Fan Pack, but you get to be the first person outside the development team to fly one! Well, isn't that special! Do you get a t-shirt at least? lol... I suppose since only one person in the world can be first that's not an bad price. Anyway, it's a cool concept I think I'll start making one myself. I'd want foot rests on it though. Otherwise I'd be afraid that my shoes would fall off while flying. ;)
